Output Delivery System (ODS) XML File Creation

AUDIENCE
This course is designed to teach programmers how to use ODS to create XML output.

BENEFITS
This course is will teach students how XML can be used for web page production. Students will learn about:
• ODS MARKUP statement
• Tagsets, including WML, CHTML, CSV, PYX, LaTeX, troff and DOCBOOK

PREREQUISITES
Output Delivery System (ODS) Basics course or equivalent understanding and some basic knowledge of XML concepts and style sheets.

COURSE TOPICS

XML Basics
• XML document type definitions
• XML extensible and cascading style sheets

XML Advanced
• XML LIBNAME engine
• Using ODS to create XML output and XML-related files
• Creating other XML-related files (pyx, latex, troff)

ODS MARKUP Statement Design
• Working with comma separated data
• How the TYPE= option is used
• Creating Tagsets with Proc TEMPLATE

Software Used: Base SAS® Software
