Agency Background The mission statement of this Organization is “to be the preeminent collector and provider of timely, relevant and quality data about the people and economy of the United States". This includes the Decennial Census, Foreign Trade, Economic Census, Business Patters, and Population and Income Surveys. In 1996, this Agency made a formal decision to implement a 10 Million dollar contract for SAS Software, over the next five years. They just signed another 18 million dollar contract with SAS Institute. This Organization uses SAS Software not only to create the Decennial Census, but also to perform daily analysis of data. The Bureau creates all the individual indices including International Trade Gaps, GNP, and more, on a daily basis. Training Project Objectives The Agency needed an organization that could commit to providing a wide range of SAS classes to several hundred employees with a set group of instructors who became very familiar with the their internal and external business needs. Resolutions Destiny Corporation was contacted and has been teaching hundreds of SAS courses per year since 1996. “We strive to understand our clients’ needs and gain insight into their business processes". Destiny offers customization to the optimal degree required, based on the needs of the organization. “We dedicate a set of instructors who are familiar with the client’s business requirements, existing processes and changing needs". Destiny instructors, dedicated to this project, gained deep insight into the needs of the Organization and their processes from the beginning. Destiny Corporation worked very closely with the client’s SAS support branch in creating an ideal mix of training courses that best suited their needs. “We review this list on a quarterly basis to ensure that it is the optimum mix and make adjustments as required”. Destiny set up single, flat fee pricing that added simplicity to a long-term contract. “We work at ensuring quality and results-oriented training”. Destiny also designs and administers tests for every class to ensure students’ understanding of topics. Benefits Destiny taught the majority of the Organization's staff to more effectively run and create the Decennial Census and Demographic and Economic applications.
