Support of the SAS User Group Community

There were over 30 million SAS users in the world at the turn of the century. In the United States eight Regional and Special Interest SAS user group conferences are held each year. Typically, SAS users and the SAS Institute present short papers in 4 or 5 tracks on SAS topics of interest. Many organizations view these conferences as training sessions.

“We believe that training is best when people can actually use the software in addition to attending lectures”. Prior to Destiny Corporation’s support of the Regional User Group Conferences, papers were presented in a lecture-only format. Since Destiny’s involvement, the attendee’s experience at a regional conference has changed.

Destiny Corporation supports each conference by donating training resources, including instructor time, computers and by designing hands-on SAS training sessions. These sessions are known as the “Regional Hands On Workshops”. Conference attendees can attend a separate track called Hands On Workshops at no additional charge and gain real world experience working with various SAS applications. All attendees receive papers of presentations in addition to code used in the workshops. This helps them better understand the topics so that they can be more productive and efficient when applying these concepts at work.
