This large Fortune 50 organization is a leading international family entertainment and media enterprise with multiple business segments.
The organization was performing marketing campaign analysis using SAS executed ‘indatabase’ with Oracle on a UNIX based environment. The biggest challenge for one of the largest entertainment companies in the world was that it took many hours to process their campaigns, which delayed them in going to market with offerings to families for vacations, purchases and other options.
Data was moved to a new MPP (Massively Parallel Processing) environment, and only the pointers in code were changed from Oracle to the new MPP environment. Analytics processing times decreased from 22 hours to 10 minutes.
